Social Studies

This week in social studies we will be continuing with Unit 2 Middle East government and economics.  Students will be allowed to retake the Unit 1 Common Assessment if they choose to on Wednesday.  I will take the highest of the two grades.  Also all students will have a short government quiz on Wednesday and their fourth Geography vocabulary quiz on Friday.  All of the study materials for these assessments have been shared in Google classroom and are linked below.  Students should continue reading and practicing in the Middle East coach book to help reinforce what we are doing in the classroom.

Math News


This week in Math we continue Unit 2 Ratios & Proportional Relationships. All daily presentations are posted in google classroom.

Monday: Comparing ratios. CAS Readiness due today. Progress reports sent. Homework sheet assigned.  
Tuesday: Scaling ratios. Progress reports due with parent signature.
Wednesday: Scaling to solve proportions. Homework sheet due. New sheet assigned
Thursday: Check Up Quiz and Math Reflection
Friday: Comparison strategies. Vocabulary TIP Chart due in google classroom. Homework sheet due.

Students who make a grade below 100% are expected to correct their wrong answers and re-submit for partial credit for all assignments except vocabulary tests and some on-line assessments. Corrections can be done during homeroom, ELT, lunch or after-school. Students must have their homeroom, ELT or lunch teacher's permission. Arrangements for after school must be made in advance. Students are to be picked up by 5pm.  

Parents please check Campus regularly and monitor your child's grades and assignment completion. The marking period ends on 10/9/15. All missing work and corrections should be turned in by then. Email me at baldwink@clarke.k12.ga.us for questions, comments and concerns. 

Extra Credit
Students who reaches 25% completion with a grade 70 or higher on MobyMax State Test Prep by 5 p.m. on Monday, October 12th will receive extra credit for the 1st marking period.
