7th Grade News: September 5-8, 2017

General News for the 7th Grade Labor Day Holiday = No School = Monday, September 4 21st Century Begins on Tuesday, September 5 The 21st Century Before and After-School Program begins on Tuesday, September 5.   The after-school program begins at 4:00 pm and concludes at 6:00 pm each evening, Monday-Thursday.  Bus transportation home is available.  This year there are exciting activities that will be a part of the 21st Century after-school program.    Mondays = Intramural Sports with Mr. Yungmann, Mathematics with Mr. Aqui, Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance with Ms. Wiggins, Modern Art Applications with Ms. Joyner Tuesdays = Visual Arts with Ms. Campbell, Math Counts with Mr. Hussain and Mrs. Dalton, STEP Team with Mrs. McDavid, Chess with Mr. Scott Wednesdays =  Intramural Sports with Mr. Yungmann, Mathematics with Mr. Aqui, Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance with Ms. Wiggins, Chorus and Music with Mr. Lawrence Thursdays = Visual Arts with Mr. Wright, Science & En

General News for the 7th Grade Labor Day Holiday = No School = Monday, September 4 Detention The 7th Grade hosts detention every Tuesday from 4:00-5:00 pm.  If your child receives a detention, he or she will have a detention notice provided at least 2 school days in advance.   School Supply List List of Supplies all 7th Graders will need:   Click here ELA News Monday: Creative Writing - Science Fiction "Pixar Story Spine" Tuesday: Guided Reading Wednesday: Reader's Theater: "The Lottery" Thursday: Guided Reading Friday: "The Snowflake Writing Method" ***Students have a 30 minute per night reading log.  ELAGSE7RL3: Analyze how particular elements of a story or drama interact (e.g., how settings shape the characters or plot). General News for the 7th Grade August 21, 2017 = The Great North American Solar Eclipse Hilsman Middle School will be on an altered schedule that will allow students to attend all classes before 1:00 pm.  Parents can pick up their students to view the eclipse with their families.  If students choose to remain at school, they will get to see this historic event.  Hilsman Middle School's back soccer field will become an eclipse viewing area.  Students are encouraged to bring towels to sit on and snacks and water to enjoy while witnessing this scientific phenomena.   UGA will provide eclipse glasses for all students and staff.    School buses will take students home 45 minutes- 1 hour later than usual.     Resource:   The Great North American Eclipse 2017 School Supply List List of Supplies all 7th Graders will need:   Click here ELA News We will be RI testing this week as well as visiting the library as a class.  The RI lets us know where your child is in ter
