Math News This week in Math we continue Unit 2 Ratios & Proportional Relationships. All daily presentations are posted in google classroom. Monday: Ratios of side lengths.  Homework sheet assigned.   Tuesday: Using ratios of side lengths to determine similarity Wednesday: Using similarity to find unknown measurements Thursday: Check Up Quiz and Math Reflection Friday: Analyzing comparison statements .  Vocabulary TIP Chart due in google classroom. Homework sheet due. Students who make a grade below 100% are expected to correct their wrong answers and re-submit for partial credit for all assignments except vocabulary tests and some on-line assessments. Corrections can be done during homeroom, ELT, lunch or after-school. Students must have their homeroom, ELT or lunch teacher's permission. Arrangements for after school must be made in advance. Special Events This Week Friday 11th - Progress Reports Sent - Please sign and date the envelope and have your child turn it in to his/her homeroom teacher on Monday.  NEWS from ELA This week we are continuing our study of science fiction.  Last week students read the teleplay "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street."  This week, we are watching two video versions of this classic story, the original "Twilight Zone" episode and a more modern version with a slightly different theme.  Students will answer comprehension and reflection questions about the original video and write about themes or lessons each episode teaches.  Later in the week, students will read the short story "Harrison Bergeron" and write their response by answering the question,"When is equal not always fair?" We will round out the week with a look at David Bowie's song "Space Oddity" and reflect on our experience with the science fiction genre. Links to
