Special Events This Week - Parent Conferences


Early Release at 1:30 Wednesday through Friday for parent conferences. 
If you have not scheduled a parent conference for your child please contact his/her homeroom teacher as soon as possible. 

Math News


This week in Math we continue Unit 2 Ratios & Proportional Relationships. All daily presentations are posted in google classroom. 

Monday: 25% Completion on MobyMax due for Q1 extra credit due. No School for students  
Tuesday: Proportions with percents. Homework assigned (2 hrs of Waggle).  
Wednesday: Proportions with percents. 
Thursday: Proportions with percents. 
Friday: Measurement conversions. Homework due.

 WAGGLE: Beginning this quarter students will be given practice assignments on Waggle. Students are expected to complete at least 2 hours per week in order to get full credit for their weekly homework grade. Please encourage your child to spend at least 30 minutes each night completing their assignments. 

Students who make a grade below 100% are expected to correct their wrong answers and re-submit for partial credit for all assignments except vocabulary tests and some on-line assessments. Corrections can be done during homeroom, ELT, lunch or after-school. Students must have their homeroom, ELT or lunch teacher's permission. Arrangements for after school must be made in advance. Students are to be picked up by 5pm.  

Parents please check Campus regularly and monitor your child's grades and assignment completion. Assignments with a grade 55 and NHI in the comment box means that assignment was Not Handed In. Email me at baldwink@clarke.k12.ga.us for questions, comments and concerns. 

Extra Credit
Students who reach 50% completion with a grade 70 or higher on MobyMax State Test Prep by 5 p.m. on Monday, January 4th will receive extra credit for the 2nd marking period.

March 16, 2020 Parents Guide to Google Classroom  link Hilsman Cyber Days Letter to Parents and Students   Hilsman Administration School closed Monday, March 16 through Friday March 20. More details as we received them from the Clarke County District Superintendent Meals for Students — The Clarke County School District will provide free meals to students during the closure caused by the COVID-19 virus. The district will offer meals for pick up at two school sites as well as neighborhood hubs. Students will receive a breakfast and lunch meal. Service will begin Tuesday, March 17.  Service Guidelines  To ensure the safety of all our students, we request the following guidelines be followed: 1. Students must be present to get their meals.  2. At this time, adult meals are not available for purchase.  3. Students must take the entire meal – choices will not be provided.  4. Monday, March 23, 2020 2020 Week 10. March 30, 2020 Hilsman Administration General Information While our school is closed, school will continue from home. We have implemented distance learning throughout the district, in which our students and staff will continue school virtually from home. For full details on how these Cyber Days will work, we hope the following links will be helpful: Panther Cyber Days One-Stop Shop (a slideshow containing all relevant info regarding assignments, schedules, meal services, laptops/WiFi, contact info, etc.) Meal Service for CCSD Students Meals for students will continue during our school closure. Announcements:  Students Return Face-to-Face This Week! K-8 students will begin in-person instruction starting Monday November 9th, with families also having the option to remain virtual. This is because much of Monday will be spent going over new rules and procedures with our face-to-face students as we get used to returning to the building.
