Math News This week in Math we continue our work in Unit 1 - Operations with Rational Numbers.  Monday: Developing the algorithm for multiplying rational numbers. Homework sheet given.  Tuesday: Developing the algorithm for dividing rational numbers. Progress reports sent.  Wednesday: The multiplication and division relationship. Progress reports due with parent signature for a homework grade. Thursday:  Check-Up Quiz & Math Reflections   Friday: Order of Operations.  Homework sheet due today. ATN Investigation 2 Math Reflections in google classroom due today.  Students who make a grade below 100% are expected to correct their wrong answers and re-submit for partial credit for all assignments except vocabulary tests and some on-line assessments.  Science News This Week's Lessons: Monday - Wednesday:   Aquatic Biomes Thursday:  Biome Unit Review - Turn in Biome Projects (mini-books & slideshows) Friday:  Biome Unit Test Lab Needs This Mon

Students also take a weekly Big 10 Quiz every Friday.  The Big 10 Quizzes are taken electronically on Edmodo.  Students can access their Edmodo accounts from anywhere with an Internet connection.  They can show you their score and review the quiz questions.  Parents can also have an Edmodo parent account.  Please ask your child for the parent access code to his or her account. Social Studies News Greetings!  We are off to a wonderful start to the school year!  I wanted to make everyone aware that I have shared the Middle East coach book with all students as well as the 7th grade social studies glossary in Google Drive.  Both of these are great study resources for students.  Reading the sections in the coach book that match the standards we covered that day or week is a great way to reinforce what we doing in the classroom.  I am looking forward to a great year. Science News Science on Team Kani is amazing!  Students are learning about the Earth's interdependence of biotic and abiotic factors while traveling through the Earth's terrestrial and aquatic biomes.  Students are creating mini-books that highlight key facts about each biome.   Quizzes and homework in Science class are due every Friday.  If we are in school on a Friday, students will take a Quiz and will be expected to turn in a weekly maintenance sheet.   Each week students re

It was fantastic meeting all of the new students and parents on Saturday at HilFest.  We are thrilled to have all of you as a part of Team Kani! The first day of school for students is Tuesday, August 11th.  It will be an A Day. This year there is a change in the cafeteria - all students can eat breakfast and/or lunch for free!
