Math News
This week will look a lot like last week for students. We will continue our study of Unit 4, Probability! Probability, by definition, is the the extent to which an event is likely to occur, measured by the ratio of the favorable cases to the whole number of cases possible (i.e. chance of rain tomorrow/weather forecast). We will continue to use different hands-on experiments and investigations to study probability. Students can expect to be given a homework assignment on Tuesday that will be due on Thursday. It appears that most students are having success with Unit 4 so far - we hope to build upon that success this week.

As always, please feel free to email your child's respective math teacher if you have any questions.

Social Studies News

Students are finishing their entire study of the Middle East by learning about the economies of Middle Eastern countries. They are learning about OPEC, economic freedoms, and details of the economies of Israel, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. Students got a study guide last Friday. It needs 3 signatures to be complete, and at least one of the signatures needs to be a parent/guardian signature. The test will be this week on Friday. Contact us if you have any questions! Beginning next week, students will begin studying southern and eastern Asia (India,  China, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea).
