Monday 12/17: College and Career Shirt Day
Our monthly College/Career T-Shirt Day will be this Monday, December 17th. Students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt representing a college (or career) with uniform bottoms. Please make sure the college is visible on the shirt, as solid colors are not permitted. Students who do not wish to participate must wear regular uniforms. Our staff will be decked out and we hope students will join us!Panther Nation News Blog

Monday, December 17, 2018 to Friday, December 20, 2018: Students will be reading "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton. Students will be finishing the novel and then watching the movie. Students will be critiquing how the book is similar as well as different from the film. "The Outsiders" is a coming of age story about a set of brothers who have to grow up without their deceased parents. ELA teachers would like to wish you all a "Happy Holidays" and a wonderful "New Year 2019!"
***Students must read 20-30 minutes each night.

Math News
We are in Unit 3 this week. Unit 3 is about equations and inequalities. In this unit, students are developing skills in areas that are traditionally known as algebra. They learn algebraic methods for solving equations. Students will also solve linear inequalities in one variable and represent their solutions on a number line.

Social Studies News
Students are finishing their study of the major religions and philosophies in southern and eastern Asia, focusing on Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, and Confucianism. This will continue through Thursday, December 20. When students return in January, they will begin studying the modern history of several countries in Asia.
