Help Others Around the World - Trick or Treat for UNICEF

Orange Trick or Treat boxes will be available this week for students to take along with them Trick or Treating.  Boxes will be due back at school by November 7.  Students that collect at least $1.00 will receive 10 positive PAW stamps.  Students that collect at least $2.00 will receive 10 positive PAW stamps and be entered in a drawing for assorted Panther gear prizes.

Red Ribbon Week is this week!

This is the time each year when schools across the nation plan activities that promote alcohol and drug awareness and prevention. For more information, visit redribbon.org. The theme this year is "Life Is Your Journey. Travel Drug Free." One way students can participate is by dressing up each day:

Monday - Crazy Sock Day! Sock it to drugs and wear crazy socks!
Tuesday - Crazy Hair Day! Show us your uniqueness by wearing a crazy hairdo!
Wednesday - Sports Jersey Day! Team up against drugs and wear a sports jersey!
Thursday - Red Out! Wear a red shirt in support of Red Ribbon Week!

Hilsman Health Center is now open!

The Hilsman Health Center is now officially open! In order for students to be served, they need to have a parent/guardian fill out a consent form and return it to Nurse Caitlyn. Once the form is returned, we can schedule an appointment. If students have their consent form signed (and on file) and we get verbal permission, our nurses can walk students to the Health Center while they're at school if it's for urgent care (fever, asthma visit, etc.). Otherwise, it operates like a regular doctor's office! They currently do not have a phone number (they're working on it!), but appointments can still be made through the Athens Neighborhood Health Center. They are also taking walk-in visits for the time being!

Have any questions? Send Nurse Caitlyn an email at kurishc@clarke.k12.ga.us.

Fall Break is this weekend

Students do not have school on Friday, November 1-Tuesday, November 5. Teachers have a workday on Tuesday, November 5, which is also election day here in Athens. Need more information about election day, like where you are registered to vote or a sample ballot? Go to https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do for this information and more about the election.
