Hilsman Administration
General Information
While our school is closed, school will continue from home. We have implemented distance learning throughout the district, in which our students and staff will continue school virtually from home. For full details on how these Cyber Days will work, we hope the following links will be helpful:
Meal Service for CCSD Students
Meals for students will continue during our school closure. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (March 30th-April 1st) will be the same operation that has been running already:

  • Drive-thru service at Hilsman and Oglethorpe from 8:00am-12:00pm
  • Bus Delivery service in select neighborhoods - Check website or online map for neighborhoods

However, beginning this Thursday, April 2nd, services will change to twice a week. For this Thursday, April 2nd:

  • Drive-thru service at Hilsman and Chase Street Elementary from 10:00am-12:00pm
    • Distribute bulk food items to last kids through Thursday AND Friday
  • Bus Delivery service in select neighborhoods - Check website or online map for neighborhoods
Starting Monday, April 6th:

  • Drive-thru service at Hilsman and Chase Street Elementary from 10:00am-12:00pm
    • Distribute bulk food items on Monday to last kids until Wednesday
  • Bus Delivery service in select neighborhoods - Check website or online map for neighborhoods
From then on, meal services will run on Mondays and Thursdays only. Our district has an updated list of food resources available to our families and staff during this period of school closure and the "shelter in place" ordinance enacted by the Athens-Clarke County government.

 Academics
Our school closure has recently been extended through April 24th. This week teachers will begin introducing new content. When this begins this week , it will be extra important for students to attend their Zoom sessions! These are excellent chances for students to ask questions about their work, to review, play games, or simply just catch up. We miss our students dearly and Zoom has proven to be a great way to stay connected!

Panther Support
Every single student has been assigned a Staff Support who will be reaching out to every family every week! Because we are in this together, please do not hesitate to ask for help, share concerns, or simply vent. We are stronger together and we are here to help. We want to support our students and families in any way that we can, so please let us know what you need!

MAP Testing MAP Testing will take place December 3-5.  The testing schedule is linked here:   MAP Testing Schedule Hilsman Health Center is now open! The Hilsman Health Center is now officially open! In order for students to be served, they need to have a parent/guardian fill out a consent form and return it to Nurse Caitlyn. Once the form is returned, we can schedule an appointment. If students have their consent form signed (and on file) and we get verbal permission, our nurses can walk students to the Health Center while they're at school if it's for urgent care (fever, asthma visit, etc.). Otherwise, it operates like a regular doctor's office! They currently do not have a phone number (they're working on it!), but appointments can still be made through the Athens Neighborhood Health Center. Family Science Night Thursday, March 21 5:00-6:30 pm Please join us! Parent Conferences this week! Parent conferences are this week, Wednesday-Friday. These days are also early release days and school ends at 1:30pm. We hope to see each parent/guardian at Hilsman this week to discuss your student's performance and how to ensure they succeed in the last quarter of the year.
