October 5th - October 9th

Student Shout Outs!

Students are doing amazing through virtual learning, and we are so proud of them. 7th grade teachers wanted to shout out a couple of students for going above and beyond the past few weeks! Be on the look out for your teacher and your names in the coming weeks 😁

Ms. Ebron wants to give a shout out to Shaunice Gonzales, Wendy Flores, Marquavis King, Adeline Druppel, Amiyah Martin, Elijah Bradford, Tatyana Bolton, Caroline Michael, Christopher Koch, Lilianna Carias, Danielle Preston, Tulsi Patel and Zakaris Neal for always participating and turning in work on time.

Ms. Dalton wants to give a shout out to Cancan Yang, Samuel Lumpkin, Bryson Haley, and Josue Castellon.

What's happening this week:

Highlighted text = days where students have assessments for specific content. 😀

ELA will continue to review narrative elements by reviewing the Study Guide for the midterm as well as learning how to navigate the iReady platform. Students will also continue to work on their characters for their narrative project.

MATH will be focusing on fractional rates (rates, unit rates, complex ratios, and proportions). Students will be tested on this information on Wednesday!

SCIENCE will be exploring the interactions between organisms in ecosystems. Students will study the concepts of food webs and chains in order to better understand why polar bears are able to survive in a barren landscape. They will also learn about symbiotic relationships.

SOCIAL STUDIES will continue to discuss the upcoming mock election (election on Tuesday!). Students will also have an intro to Middle Eastern culture and look at differences between ethnic and religious groups in this area.

7th GRADE BAND will be working on Essential Elements #99 as well as Breezin Thru Theory (Chapter 1: Bass Clef Mad Dash Drills 2a-2d and 3a). Students will have a summative Quiz on Breezin Thru Theory, Mad Dash Drills Treble Clef 1c, Bass Clef 1c.

How can I support my student?

You are the most important person in helping your student succeed, and we want you to partner with us so we can help students be as successful as possible.

  • Help your student establish a routine that includes a consistent bedtime wake up time.

  • Help them establish a consistent place to work during class with a table/desk.

  • Help your student find a consistent place for school materials so they always know where their materials are. Help them organize their materials and/or papers for each class.

  • Headphones will be very helpful if there is more than one student attending class.

Have a technology request?

Our wonderful Mrs. Neace and Mrs. Gonzalez are working on requests as fast as they can! Please submit your requests through this form!
