b. Develop and use a model to describe how asexual reproduction can result in offspring with identical genetic information while sexual reproduction results in genetic variation. (Clarification statement: Models could include, but are not limited to, the use of monohybrid Punnett squares to demonstrate the heritability of genes and the resulting genetic variation, identification of heterozygous and homozygous, and comparison of genotype vs. phenotype.)

Social Studies News
All of the social studies grades for 3rd quarter are entered, so a student's current grade will be their report card grade. This grade will only change if students turn in missing work, makeup work, or Milestones corrections this week. Many students have room to improve their grade. Please check Infinite Campus to see details of your student's grade.

Students finished the last unit with an open-note quiz. Since grades were not as good as the teachers thought they should be, students could earn extra credit by turning in their notes. We will continue to work on the skill of note-taking and have another open-note quiz in the next unit, which began last Friday. This unit is on the geography of Africa. All grades for the Africa unit will be carried over to 4th quarter.
