General 7th grade information
Monday 8/26 from 5-7pm: Open House in the NEW BUILDING
Come see the new building and share on our excitement. We want that excitement to spread through the community! We can't wait to have students begin attending on Tuesday. Remember there is no school for students this Monday 8/26.We need more teachers!
21st Century After School Program
21st Century Classes will begin on Tuesday, September 3. A parent or a guardian must attend an Orientation prior to the student attending classes. The Orientation will take place on Monday, August 26 at the new Hilsman immediately after Open House concludes. (~7:00 pm in the cafeteria).
Students must complete an application and enroll in order to attend classes. Students can be picked up by parents or ride one of the 21st Century buses. 21st Century applications are in the office or with Mrs. Dalton and Ms. Hughes.

Hilsman Sports

ELA News
This week will be continuing our review of narrative structures, including theme and point of view. We will be using the story "Thirteen and a Half" as our focus text for the week. Be on the lookout for our study guide for our first Unit Post Test- it'll be passed out to students on Tuesday. The test will be on September 6th! For more information, check out our lesson plans!
Math News
We will be working in Unit 2.Tuesday and Wednesday: Students will be learning how to use a chip model or number line to determine an algorithm for subtraction.
*On Thursday there will be a quiz.
Friday: Students will be learning how to represent multiplication of two integers on a number line and a chip board.
Want more information? Here are the lesson plans for 7th grade math. Homework will be given out on Tuesday 8/27 and will be due Friday 8/30.
Accelerated Math: Students first collect data by using the spinners to produce the various outcomes and observe its long-term relative frequency. Then they construct an area model to examine and compare the theoretical probability of making purple to the experimental probability of making purple.
A partner quiz will be administered on Thursday, August 29th. We will begin a comprehensive review of the probability unit this week as a precursor to the unit test that will be administered on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Social Studies News
Students will be learning about the monotheistic religions that began in the Middle East: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They have a vocabulary assignment due on Friday.
